Our Mission

Poppy Life Care is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is determined to provide and deliver easy access to affordable, holistic, integrative, and complementary health and wellness resources and services for individuals and families living with a wide spectrum of physical, mental, and behavioral health challenges. Our mission is to facilitate awareness and education while building innovative care programs, which we hope to accomplish alongside our local communities, its businesses and people. We believe in helping each other as part of an ecosystem of local business, healthcare groups, academic institutions and professionals alike.

The Needs

  • According to SAMHSA, in 2021 43% of adults could not afford mental health treatment and 36% did not know where to go for services
  • According to statistics, around 60% of individuals with bipolar disorder abuse alcohol or drugs. Additionally, roughly 50% of people seeking treatment for substance use also meet the criteria for PTSD
  • Within Orange County, a recent study by UCSF determined that 50.3% of adults were actively experiencing psychological distress and common mental health issues, and were not receiving any form of treatment. Transitional aged youth, identifying as LGBTQ, from 18-24, experienced severe psychological distress, at a rate of up to five times their heterosexual peers
  • About 1 in 36 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to estimates from CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network.
  • According to the U.S. Department of Housing, the homeless population in Orange County, CA increased 91% from 2007 to 2020

Mindfulness

Enables individuals to learn how to regulate their emotions and decrease stressful situations by practicing mindful exercises when triggered. Research published by JAMA shows daily mindfulness techniques offer the same anxiety and depression relief as prescription anti-anxiety medications.

Yoga

According to the Cells Report Medicine Report, A review of Yogic breathing practices reported increased feelings of peacefulness, improved reaction time and problem solving, decreased anxiety, and reduction of mind wandering and intrusive thoughts.

Nutrition

Provides gut-brain and hormone health nutritional counseling to improve behavioral health and mental health. Program includes recommendations for supplements, diet change, meal plans, and more. According to Harvard Health, about 95% of your serotonin is produced in the gastrointestinal tract, and the GI tract is lined with 100 million neurons all impacting emotions, focus and brain health.

We do not sell or rent our mailing list to other organizations that solicit donations or sell any products. However, to enhance our solicitation strategies and improve our fundraising, Poppy Life Care exchanges portions of our mailing list with select non-profit organizations.
A 501(c)(3) public charity is an entity that: [1] has been organized under state law, [2] is operated for a 501(c)(3) purpose, [3] benefits an unidentified charitable class of people (e.g., those who suffer from AIDS), [4] engages in activities that are non-political in nature, and [5] derives at least one-third of its support from the general public. A 501(c)(3) purpose includes–but is not limited to–educational, religious, scientific, medical, and charitable endeavors.

There is no limit to the amount you can donate—however for larger donations, please contact us here.

The majority of our funds (over 70%) go toward paying physicians and providing the treatment necessary for children that do not have health insurance and struggle with conditions that range from spectrum development conditions, anxiety, depression, and more.
